SAAC Does Vegas 9
or as Roland put it

Racing in "River City"

It was a little wet in Vegas this year. I've been there for 8 out of the 9 events, and this was the first time we had a weather problem. It was cold some years, but it never really rained. In the morning the track was wet from rain the previous night and, in fact, had 6" of water at some of the apexes. It was unclear if it was going to be an open track event or white water rafting challenge. But as long as you avoided the lakes during the morning it was still a good time, slippery but fun. It was actually a good time to practice hanging the rear end out, and it didn't wear out your tires.

You may notice many of the pictures are of GT-40's. There were other cars there, but Roland was taking these shots.

This wasn't the worst of it. I got caught out on my last lap when there was a cloud burst that was mostly slushy hail. Talk about slippery. I had a passenger in the car and we could barely see past the hood. People were listening to us as we proceeded around the track, SLOWLY. But they couldn't see us until we pulled into the pits. Note that the GT-350 has no side windows or wipers installed.
