| You've
heard the stories, and they are true. We have more fun this weekend than a person
ought to. Don't miss out being a part of it this year. You already know that Monterey
in August is the Mecca for vintage gear heads. We
will arrive in Carmel on Thursday about 12:00, spending one and a half days driving
up the coast from SoCal on some spectacular roads. This will enable us to watch
the cars coming into the town from the Pebble Beach Car Tour. This is a parade
of some of the most expensive cars in the world. There won't be any support vehicles
(bring your AAA card). We
will leave Wednesday, Aug 13, about 11:00 AM and stay in Paso Robles that evening.
We leave early the next morning in order to get into Carmel before noon. Any
cars are eligible to join, but the route will be more fun in sports cars than
a Suburban. The
automobile events in and around Monterey this weekend are all first class and
include: Monterey
Historic Races - This is a rolling museum of historic race and production
cars
Pebble Beach Concours
d'Elegance - World class car from around the world are on display here, and
there are almost as many celebrities as there are cars. Russo
and Steele Auction
- This car is selling Saturday night
Concorso
Itailiano - If you like Italian, you'll love this. Plus you can display your
car on the fairway for the price of two admission tickets. Advanced tickets for
the Concorso are $100 each, but for $200 you can display your car, and get two
tickets, and get coffee and donuts in the AM,
and get a program. RM
